Class Descriptions

  • Levels 1-5 (7+ yrs. old)

    utilizes ballet, jazz, and dance conditioning/stretching to build individual's grace, balance, poise, strength and flexibility. Dancers will develop a deeper appreciation and knowledge of their bodies and how to care for them. Graduated levels of training in technique and vocabulary allow each individual to be placed in their ideal environment. Students will be evaluated and invited to move into the next level at the discretion of the director.

  • Hip Hop

    incorporates a variety of old and new urban dance styles. The dancing represents body movements that go with the beat and rhythm of hip hop music. Hip hop dancing is very dynamic and helps the dancers improve flexibility, develop body balance, and coordination.

  • Creative MOvement (3-5 yrs. old)

    uses the basics of dance as a fun way to develop balance, coordination, rhythm and musicality while also promoting creativity and imagination.

  • Beginning Combo / Pre-Ballet (5-8 yrs. old)

    creates an atmosphere where students can learn dance basics in a fun and nurturing environment. Classes are designed to further develop grace, strength, balance, rhythm and creativity.

  • Tap

    develops rhythm, style, and sound in addition to a corresponding ballet level. Students will learn a variety of tap styles with exercises focusing on building flexibility of the ankle, coordination, and speed of movement. The class emphasis is on developing proper tap technique, producing clear tap sounds, and having fun.

  • Pre-pointe / Pointe

    designed for upper levels students with previous ballet training. Placement is at the instructor's discretion. Students will utilize previously learned ballet techniques while working in pointe shoes. Classes include barre exercises, center floor work, and across the floor combinations. These exercises focus on strengthening the feet and ankles.
